Six months ago, Brody McGuire watched helplessly, as a young woman died in front of him, at the hands of a merciless serial killer. Plagued with guilt, he leaves Serenity and heads to Claremont, Colorado for some much needed R&R. Attempting to patch things up with his estranged father, things quickly spiral out of control. Now, with his father dead, he has no choice but to stay and face demons he thought he’d put to rest long ago. Then he meets the girl next door.

Life has been anything but easy for Meghan Anderson. Just one year ago, she got the phone call every wife of a police officer dreads. That her husband had died in the line of duty, leaving her a widow with three young children. Packing up their life in Los Angeles, they relocate to Claremont, Colorado hoping for a fresh start. Only, upon their arrival, they find the heat out of commission and end up on the doorstep of Brody McGuire’s house.

Still healing from their scars, Brody and Meghan find themselves drawn together, even though they know they shouldn’t be. They come from different worlds, plus Brody’s a cop. Something Meghan refuses to put her children through again, but as the holidays grow near they find that they’re each healing one another. Something neither thought was possible, but in the distance, someone is watching, waiting to claim what they believe should be theirs…
